Trainer Coordinator Role

CBHA engages Trainer Coordinators to manage the Trainer Program and support consistent injury management and return-to-play processes across the association.

Trainer Coordinators support the Trainer Program by managing:

  1. Trainer onboarding
  2. Trainer communication
  3. Program procedures
  4. Injury documentation expectations
  5. Concussion protocol expectations
  6. Return-to-play documentation expectations
  7. Escalation pathways
  8. Parent, coach, or team communication concerns when required

Trainer Coordinators may act as an escalation point when a team Trainer needs support with a complex or disputed situation. This may include situations where:

  1. A medical note is incomplete or unclear
  2. A parent or coach disputes a participation decision
  3. A return-to-play decision requires consistency with Trainer Program procedures
  4. The Trainer needs support managing communication
  5. The situation involves concussion protocol, medical documentation, or return-to-play concerns
  6. The matter requires additional review before a player returns to practice, contact activity, or game play

In some cases, the Trainer Coordinators may take over communication or process management after consulting with the team Trainer.

Trainer Coordinators provide program and process oversight. They do not provide clinical supervision, practicum supervision, licensing supervision, or discipline-specific medical oversight for Trainers from regulated or specialized professional backgrounds.

Each Trainer remains responsible for working within their own training, competence, and applicable professional scope.
